A Metaphysical Simplicity

Friends and family, a life of ease;
A curative swim in the evening breeze.
Reform is coming and this time it will last.
Determination goes down slow and comes up fast.
The flag of free thought survives at half mast.
When you're striving, it matters not who laughs last.
Life is a play with an oddly ill-prepared cast.
What matters is to see the light despite a dark and dreary past.
And to assume nothing whatsoever in a land so vast.
Servitude is deeply immoral and rebellion is inherently chaste.
I came up with a way to read the stars,
Then boarded an asteroid and got off at Mars.
There I met a mystic stocked with jars;
Jars of Utopian chocolate bars.
In a world so sublime, there is nothing like home.
More children died than soldiers and it enamours my dome.
I come from the East where cunning is rooted in the genome.
Mountains and mysteries greet you wherever you roam.
I built a wall to keep bureaucrats from my zone.
I stand for freedom and to strive is to atone.
Everything becomes clearer when I am alone,
Love is my crown and patience is my throne.
Materialism will debase and have us blind as a stone.
We must purge our rhetoric from childishly frantic overtones.
Remember that every revolutionary current has a tyrannical undertone.
Kings will turn peasants and God will not speak in monotones.
Humility will work in our favour when the chips are down.
Ego merely sets the stage for an upheaval and comedown.
Death awaits us and absurd is a countdown.
In the seas of becoming we must be ourselves or inevitably drown.
The road to heaven for me is edifyingly abstract.
For others, with defining courage, there is this and the eternal distracts.
Answer with conviction whenever anxiety detracts.
Make yourself the fulcrum in all social contracts.
