My Beat
I'm a beast on my feet and my beat is Easy Street,
Pride is neat and I can't be slipping on my beat,
I'm full of myself and man is surely what he eats,
I pen songs of individualism that live on despite defeats.
The simple things in life have to make way for feats,
The niceness on Easy Street packs unity not heat,
Before we rise to shine we must first bless our seats,
The weather on Easy Street is warmth on repeat.
Never nervous on my beat, I see you and feel the love,
Expectations are a bummer and truth will rise above,
Success implies convictions and mine is resolve,
I'd never play dumb and sell you out to the wolves.
I can only be meek when we belong to time,
I am bigger than my woes and my beat beats crime,
I'm the man on my beat and none will belie me,
I move like a dream and vivacity won't be stymied.
My dream is to live right and you make it easy,
Drugs on my beat are fancy not sleazy,
Fretting is a no-no and Indulgence is breezy,
I live for the low and will forever thrive busy.
The aptitude in contributing versus the drama of belonging,
I have pain-pills for you and my beat for the longing,
You see me in the slum, I'm anything but corny,
Pills for your gut and khat to keep you horny.
I started out as apprentice to master it all,
I really love Kiandutu who accept me if I fall,
I play with ganja and I'm always on call,
Love will conquer where wickedness will stall,
These are the times when we come back to rejection,
I say no to the sword and stand taller than dejection,
A king tries out majesty and I can't do it for a fee,
Jesus gave his all so the blind could see,
Strong like the lion; no cat in a tree,
My beat is my pride and the heat to live free.
