Dawn
As the world turns,
Be conscious;
Be God conscious.
Appearances are part and parcel of fantasy, not life.
When the prophet is cheated,
God will stop the world in it's tracks.
As the world turns,
Stop to see for those who can't see.
See that the voice in your mind is either the damning or the calling.
Anoint your innocence and hold poverty to account.
And do not ask of God what is outside His Majesty.
Majesty is all man wants.
To want is ultimately to lack.
So he cries.
So his house of cards crumbles.
In the darkness.
Hanging by the noose of rationalism he fumbles.
For that one drop of absurdity to quench his absurdity.
For one last chance to make everything last.
And to create more chances to fritter away.
That is closer to sanity.
And further from happiness,
Further from light.
Afraid of the fight.
Lying to ourselves all night.
Then it breaks into dawn;
Edifying and bright.
Dawn for the darkness.
Darkness for might.
Lost in the darkness,
Still I write.
